So far City have made two signings - Ake from Bournemouth and Ferran Torres a 20 year old from Valencia for an initial 21 million. He will be wearing number 21 this season vacated by the sadly missed David Silva. It looks as though he can play on either wing and is very fast. 25 year old Nathan Ake cost 41 million and is a defender having played at both left back and as a central defender.
City have not given up on signing another central defender and have eyes on several at the moment -the favourite's being Koulibaly (Napoli) Jules Kounde (Sevilla) and Jose Gimenez (Atletico).
With the possible future absence of Aguero for a few months I would not be surprised if we do not go for another attacker.
Three young City players are going on loan to Girona - Muric (keeper) Moreno (forward) and Couto (defender)
Scott Carson will be Ederson's deputy in the absence of Bravo.
After the interesting Messi-gate event we wait to see if Garcia stays with City!
Looks like it is going to be Ld games for the few months or so!

City started their campaign with a very good away win at Wolves. With so many regular first team players absent for various reasons it was an excellent performance. The first half display was top rate with both De Bruyne and Foden playing well. A great pass from Foden put De Bruyne through and he was brought down in the penalty area. Now the new pen taker he cracked the ball into the net to give City the lead. A great move ended with Kevin giving Foden a good chance which he took to make it two nil. Wolves came back in the second half as City tired and they missed several good chances before they scored. City managed to hang on to their lead until the final seconds when Jesus made it three nil. Ake made his debut for City and did not look out of place. Torres too made his debut late in the game coming on as sub for Sterling.

Not the best of starts for City this season but injuries have not helped and with no crowds in the ground it is becoming a weird season overall.
However it was Pele's 80th birthday on the 23rd and I was lucky enough to have seen him play in the World Cup in Sweden in 1958. After watching Sweden beating Russia two nil in the Quarter Final in Stockholm I saw Brazil crush France 5-2 in the Semi-Final - Pele scoring a hat-trick. In the final against Sweden Pele scored two more in he 5-2 win. It was amazing football from Brazil (almost as good as City at their best!!!). Pele was the youngest player in that tournament. An amazing player.

Colin Bell RIP
The beginning of January brought the very sad news of the death of Colin Bell at the age of 74. He was one of the greatest City players ever and had a stand named after him. He played almost 400 games for City from 1965 to 1979 and almost 50 for England .I saw him play many times and I have managed to find some pics of him taken over the years. I first saw him play in his very first home game against Plymouth Argyle in April 1966

United's defeat at Old Trafford by Leicester gave City their 5th Premiership Title. It was Pep's third Premiership title and it was so well deserved. With three games still to play City are ten points ahead of United so with a second trophy in the bag we can still get a 'hat-trick' when we beat Chelsea in the Champions League Final in Porto..
So who are the stars of the season.
The manager has done a fine job. After an indifferent start to the season he has improved the defence no end and despite the absence of key players on occasions City had a run of 20 consecutive wins from the middle of December. The lack of a number nine did not affect the goal scoring and who would have guessed that the present highest City scorer would be Gundogan with 12 league goals - and 16 in all games. It was a total reorganization of tactics and with so many games played so far this season there has been only one occasion Pep has picked an unchanged team! Keeping possession has been so important and only rarely have errors been made.Pep has now won 8 domestic trophies since his arrival in 2016,
In defence Ederson has done really well in goal and his long ball assists and general distribution have been a big plus point. However the star of the defence has been Dias - what a signing from Benfica! I never thought we would have such a good replacement for Vincent Kompany so soon. As well as his defensive ability Dias is rapidly becoming a leader and his partnership with John Stones is the main reason City have so many clean sheets.
Foden's improvement over the season has been massive and his dedication to City from his early days is really amazing. He is now an automatic choice for the team in vital games - his dribbling skills and work rate` being excellent. He is rapidly becoming one of the best players in the Premiership and I am sure many more England caps will follow.
De Bruyne is as usual top of the assist list despite his absence when he was injured and he and Foden are vital to the team. Sterling has been a little off form this season missing quite a few chances but he still has managed 10 league goals.
Benardo Silva has also contributed a great deal with his possession and passing accuracy while Cancelo although playing as a fullback often came inside causing havoc to visiting defences
.
