Vincent Kompany joined City in 2008 from Hamburg and has probably been the best central defender in City history. He has been an excellent skipper of the sky blues for many years and will be sorely missed. He played regularly for Belgium since 2004.
Over the past 11 years he has played 360 times for City in various competitions scoring 20 goals and has helped win numerous trophies for City including 4 Premiership titles and 2 FA Cups.
He is heading back to Belgium as a player/manager for Anderlecht where he started in 2003-04. When he has had some years experience as a team manager I would not be surprised if he moves back to City in some position.
