Clear Image Zoom

Tucked away in the Movie menu (5/9 ) on the A6400 is the Zoom feature. I have started to use the clearimage zoom choice and I am very impressed with the quality. It extends my 18-135 favourite lens to 36 to 270 making it 54mm - 400mm ( 35mm equiv) .It is very useful and becomes a very good tool.
With the present virus situation lockdown I have limited my shooting to near home or in my garden.
All images were hand held and sometimes the onboard flash was used.

you can see that the blow-up from the image using the x2 zoom function is better than a cropped version from the original image

Found a new location near home for some more pics using the 18-135 with the x2 clear zoom function. Managed to capture a Kingfisher in full flight while focusing on a few residents having a chat!

Just as I was about to go home the Kingfisher arrived for a picture

A few days later I thought I would test my old 18-200 zoom with the clear zoom feature on the 6400.
As I arrived at the site the Kingfisher arrived with his breakfast, what a bit of luck!

I next tried the Sony 30mm macro lens with the clearzoom feature. It enabled me to shoot from a further dstance than normal with this lens for close-ups.

Got a surprise this morning at Kingfisher HQ. One of them spent some time in some trees further away from the water. He failed to get his breakfast!

After a spell of bad weather I again checked out Kingfisher HQ but no sign today.

Winters here and lockdown continues

My very last rose in the garden on a dull day in late November

Thought I would try the Tamron 500m mirror lens on the 'beaver' moon last night. Although I zoomed in I failed to spot any beavers around!. For once I used a tripod for the above pic.

It's not very often we get snow so it was time for a few clear zoom pics

When the snow started to fall again I started a time lapse with the 6400 so I could not use it for clear zoom so I dug out my old 6300 and discovered it too had clear zoom in a search through the menu's and next day I tried the 6000 which I had not used for years and found clear zoom on that too.
