Dec 5th - Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
An
early start for the river trip up the Tonle Sap River to Siem Reap and our base
for Angkor Wat. I shot some images through the glass portholes of the boat at
the start and end of the trip. The middle section of the journey was not photogenic
at all. Many of the windows had a heavy tint which had to be dealt with in Photoshop

As
we arrived at the Hotel - the Neak Pean, the rain which had started as we landed,
became much heavier and I wondered if any more pics were going to be taken that
day. Fortunately it didn't last long and the skies soon cleared for a quick glance
around Siem Reap

By
the time we had got our passes and arrived at Ta Prohm the light was fading fast
.It was nearly 5-30 and for me this was one of the most photogenic temples at
Angkor Wat with all the tree roots so it was a bit of a disaster that had to be
remedied later in the trip....and there was no sign of Lara Croft either. As we
cautiously crept through the ruins in virtual darkness I was keeping an eye open
in case any of the statues came to life a la Tomb Raider!

have not determined what caused the moving tiny white lights in the night image
-flying insects perhaps
