Lancashire
v Nottinghamshire LV County Championship
Day 2 May 25th 2006
After
a rain affected first day Notts were 201 for 7 at the start of the second day
which was blessed with good sunny weather but rather dour cricket at times with
only one six being hit all day I was there. Click on an image for larger pic and

After
the early loss of Ealham caught in the slips by Cork Notts defied the Lancashire
bowling
Despite
losing Swann for 26 out to a running catch by Hodge off Newby Notts gradually
approached 250
Notts
were all out for 253 when Smith was bowled by Cork. Lancs soon lost Chilton lbw
to Ealham but Sutcliffe and Loye took Lancashire past the 100 mark.
Lancs
lost Sutcliffe caught behind for 50 at 115 and was joined by Hodge who was in
good form
Loye
also went caught behind after reaching his half century and when Law failed for
once - again caught behind - Lancs were 4 down for 126. Sutton helped Hodge add
57 before he was dismissed for 13 lbw Smith. Lancashire finished the day 240 for
5 with Hodge 82 not out.
