City 2 Brighton 0

City ended the day on top of the Premier League as Liverpool drew with Chelsea in the the later game. The Sky blues really dominated Brighton who had come to defend and Edison had hardly anything to do. Brighton tried to block everything and their keeper Matt Ryan helped to keep the score down. It should have been a larger margin with 80% possession but with a vital Champions League game coming on Tuesday City took it easy in the latter stages.
Both City goals were excellent and started with counter attacks. The first came from a good cross from Sane that found a speedy Sterling in position to prod the ball home.
In the second half an excellent surging run by Aguero ended with Sterling passing to Sergio who did the business to give City a two goal lead.
In place of the injured Delph and Mendy Zinchenko had a particularly good game. Fernandinho and David Silva once again ran the midfield. One worry is a possible injury to Aguero. He was subbed straight after he scored.
A few changes from the Cardiff win - no Delph or Gundogan - in came Zinchenko and Foden was on the bench
Very good support for the visitors from Brighton
In charge of the Brighton buses guarding their goal is Chris Hughton
