Man City v Spurs Oct 2014

No shortage of thrills and spills at the Etihad in this fantastic game and oh yes we also had 4 penalties and all of City's goals were scored by Aguero. It was tough going for City in the first half as Spurs were fast and dangerous early on and Joe Hart had to make some good saves.
On 13 minutes Aguero put City ahead with an excellent goal but hardly had the cheers died down than Fernando gave the ball away in midfield and Eriksen equalized for Spurs. A few minutes later and City were awarded a penalty for a foul on Lampard. Aguero made no mistake from the spot Then Lampard went off injured and City got another penalty when Silva was brought down but Aguero had his effort saved by Lloris. City's defending had not been great so when Demichelis brought down Soldado and a penalty was awarded it looked like Spurs would draw level but Joe Hart made a magnificent save and this gave both City players and fans a big lift.
With just twenty minutes to go Aguero completed his hat-trick with yet another penalty - Spurs also losing Fazio with a red card. A few minutes later Aguero got his 4th to become City's highest scorer in the Premiership. Milner who also had a great game nearly made it five when he hit the post
On the negative side There were too many mid-field errors by City that Mason, Eriksen and Soldado made the most of and but for Joe Hart this pulsating game could have ended differently. The team selection obviously had the game in Moscow next week in mind but the magic of Aguero made sure the result was good. In the 7th minutes Hart had to make two great saves -first from Mason and then Eriksen

two minutes later Silva almost put Aguero through but the offside flag was up

Almost immediately City appealed for a back pass in the next City attack

However City were not to be denied and after 13 minutes Aguero came in from the wing and shot past the keeper to give City the lead

Aguero and the City fans celebrated

A minute later and a mistake by Fernando gave Spurs a chance and Eriksen shot past Hart

Eriksen and the visiting fans made the most of the moment

Lampard is held by Capoue and shortly after Lampard is fouled again this time by Lamela...........

.....and the referee gives a penalty which is disputed by Spurs

Aguero takes the kick and scores sending the keeper the wrong way

The City supporters let rip but who is that man in the yellow shirt with his arms folded - a spy!!

After 25 minutes Lampard had to be taken off injured and Fernandinho took his place

On 30 minutes Kaboul brings down Silva and its another penalty which Aguero takes.....

...... but Lloris blocks it and Aguero attempts to score from the rebound.....

..but alas his effort goes over the bar much to the relief of the visiting fans!

..and as Aguero goes for the ball he is fouled by Fazio who gets a red card

Aguero sends the keeper the wrong way from the spot and its 3-1 to City

Eriksen takes a free kick but it is blocked by the wall

On 74 minutes Aguero breaks through ....

...and shoots past the keeper to make it 4-1 to City

The City fans are happy as the points are won

Just on full time Milner shoots at goal......

.......beats the keeper but the ball hits the post and is cleared.
