The
historic picturesque town of Nantwich, Cheshire is the setting of a yearly event
- The Battle of Nantwich - which
is re-enacted by the Sealed Knott, the organisation which perpetuates the memory
of the Civil War. The battle originally took place in January 1643. I spent all
day in the town and the images below are a sample of the days event from the antics
of the drunk, his arrest and journey to the stocks to the eventual battle on the
outskirts of the town. The Dimage A1 images were shot at 2560 x 1920 and ASA settings
were 100 in the town and 200 for the battle. The Raynox 1.54 converter was used
for some pictures. The images were cropped and sharpened in Photoshop. Click on
an image for a 800 x 600 version. The anti-shake was on all the time and the lithium
battery lasted easily all day for 310 images.
