USA 2008 - Day 19
The Pima Air and Space Museum is one of the largest aviation museums in the world. The collection contains more than 275 aircraft some of them quite rare. I spent about five hours here and there are just a few of the results below. It opened in 1976 and has six hangers full of aircraft and space equipment as well as many aircraft outside. I was able to get aboard 'Air force One' the Presidential Aircraft from 1961 -1965 used by JFK and Johnson. I was hoping there would be more early RAF aircraft but could only find a Hurricane and Blenhelm. There is a huge variety of aircraft to be seen including rare ones like the huge Super Guppy transport plane. Put aside plenty of time - you'll need it!
