The Great Escape
Well hello all you pussies over the water. I have managed to get to the computer without the master knowing so I can tell you all the details of my escape the other week. It all started after I had moved into my new home for three weeks. The master decided I should start cat flap training though really I knew all about it having learnt from a friend Jeremy who lived near my last home. Any way he pushed me through to the great unknown.
I had a look round the garden first , checked the pool - too cold for a swim and too small for me. I am quite large and strong and then decided to look further . I jumped onto the wall at the back and took a liking for the garden there. After a while I went back to my new garden and pretended that was all the wandering I was going to do. Then when the masters back was turned I thought I would have a little adventure. I leaped up the wall again and dashed to where he couldn’t see me. In a shot I was through a small hole in a fence and soon picked up the scent of my old trails. About an hour or so later I was back in my old garden and looked for signs of life in my old house. Nothing how disappointing I was feeling a little peckish after all the exercise and I could have loved a tin of rabbit- my favourite by the way.
Any way I hung around a while and suddenly my new master appeared oh dear was I in trouble. He had the dreaded cat box with him and there followed a titanic struggle, which I won of course and I dashed away where he could not reach me. He came back with a torch several times later but I didn’t let on at all. I must admit it was getting colder and there was no sign of life at my old house but I was determined to see all my old mates and check out all my special places. I did see Jeremy who lived a couple of doors away and we thought we would sneak away and go to the cinema to see ‘Lord of the Rings’ but after a couple of failed attempts to get onto a bus we thought it would be too long a walk so Jeremy told me about a fox called Albert who sometimes comes by at night so we decided to see if we could spot him. Alas there was no sign but we did chase a couple of mice who had ventured out into the cold.
By Sunday I was beginning to get a little hungry and as there was still no sign of life at my old home I thought I should go back to my new home but in my excitement I forgot to make a map and the hole I had got through was now blocked so I was stumped. Jeremy suggested I go back with him but I thought that would be below my dignity so I suffered another night out in the cold. By Monday lunchtime the icicles on my whiskers were getting longer so I decided I would wander back to my old home and see if my new master was about. Was I lucky ! I saw him opening the back gate so I wandered across quite nonchalantly, said hello and dashed into the old garden. He was glad to see me of course but he once again tried to get me into the box but this time I only pretended to fight and in no time I was back in my new warm home with a huge plate of food and we lived happily ever after ! So there was a happy end to my story.
