A view near Wareham Bridge first thing on a cold frosty morning. The image on the left is straight from the Dimage7 with the foreground underexposed. The image on the right has had the foreground lifted by an adjustment curves layer with the mask covering the sky. Exposure was 1/750 f8 28mm focal length.4. It is amazing how much detail can be brought back in Photoshop
The tiny village of Worth Matravers has three famous ducks who are doing a circular parade caught by the Dimage7.
Wareham riverside in Dorset - the image on the top left shot with the Nikon 990 -the one above with the Dimage7. Exposure for the Dimage was 1/250 f4.5 100 asa - for the Nikon 1/207 f4.9 100 asa - both similar focal lengths. The image on the left was taken using the Nikon F4 on Sensia. Initial viewing of the originals reveals little difference though the Dimage seems to have a little more punch. However when you blow up a very small section you would have expected to see a greater difference between the image scanned in from the tranny taken with the F4 ( 4025 x 2661- 30.7 megs) the Nikon 990 (2048 x 1360 - 8 megs) and the Dimage7 (2560 x 1920 - 14 megs ). The images below are crops from the original
The top three slices have had no unsharp mask while the bottom three have been given 100 each. The centre one (Nikon990) shows more jpg breakup than the other two as one would expect. The Dimage 7 stands up pretty well with the scanned image -( Sensia slides scanned by Nikon 4 slide scanner)
