The
Friday of the 3rd Test between England and West Indies was washed out through
rain so it was a miserable day . The West Indies were 275 for 6 overnight and
although the weather improved for a time spectators were left to entertain themselves.

Sunday
and the sun came out for the 4th day of the test. With England 233 for 5 in reply
to West Indies score of 395 for 9 declared. Thorpe was 89 not out

It
looked as though we might have some play at 3-30 as the players did a warm-up
as did Channel 4 commentators but the blessing of the two monks came to naught
as the rain came back once more

It
was back to the bar for refreshments before play was finally called off.

Graham
Thorpe eventually reached his hundred which was generously acknowledged by the
crowd and his team mates (insert) on the balcony.
