I made a last minute decision to revisit Swansea where I was evacuated after the Manchester blitz just in time for the Swansea Blitz. It required an early car departure in order to see all the places I remembered ending up at the Liberty Stadium. I did see the old Vetch Field which is now an allotment! I used my phone for all he pics
Well we made the Champions League after the point gained at Swansea as I doubt whether United can beat Bournemouth on Tuesday by 19 nil! We learnt about the amazing scenes at Old Trafford just as the game started so it was important City got a good start and the opening goal after just 5 minutes was ideal. Iheanacho followed up an Aguero effort and it was his 14th goal of the season. Alas our finishing in the rest of the game was not so good and even their goal came off the head of Fernando at a free kick. It was a pretty tame display considering the importance of the game and our total of 66 points is our lowest for about 8 seasons. There was hardly a shot on goal in the second half.
We gave Manuel Pellegrini a good farewell but I am sure he will have some regrets about some of the efforts of his players. In the next few weeks we find out who will be leaving and who will be arriving to enjoy Guardiola's reign at the Etihad. I will be keeping you up to date HERE
